Cillian O'Sullivan (Rehabilitation Psychologist) will open our Athlete Support Series as a guest speaker with a workshop exploring the psychological aspect of injury, an area quite often overlooked when it comes to injury rehabilitation. 

In this workshop, Cillian will provide an overview of the theories and models on athletes psychological rehabilitation from sports injury, with practical tips and advice to put into practice.

Cillian O’Sullivan

Cillian O'Sullivan is a Rehabilitation Psychologist with extensive professional and personal experience in the area of psychological rehabilitation from sports injury. He graduated in 2016 with a BA (Hons) degree in Psychology from University College of Dublin before completing a MSc in Organisational Psychology at the University of Leeds. During this time he specialised in sport and performance psychology, completing dissertations examining the psychological impact of sports injury on athletes and how sports organisations influence athlete’s behaviours, attitudes and performance.

Cillian currently works as a Rehabilitation Psychologist with Rehab Group supporting individuals with a variety of disabilities in their rehabilitation journeys while in the past he has worked with athletes and sports teams at both an amateur and elite level within GAA, Soccer and Rugby. Cillian has also lectured in Sports and Performance Psychology at Portobello Institute.

Cillian has played within sports teams for over 18 years and has competed at an elite level for the past 8 years in GAA representing the Meath Senior Gaelic Football team.
