Telehealth is an Online Video based assessment that we use as a means of progressing your rehab to get you back to your best by removing the physical barriers associated with the present Social Distancing & movement restrictions.

How do I book an appointment?

After I book my appointment, what happens then?

After booking your appointment you will receive details on how to login to your secure Telehealth Video Appointment and your unique access code via email. You will receive this email at least 1 hour in advance of your scheduled appointment.

 

What is the fee for a Telehealth Video Appointment/Phone Appointment?

Our fee for a Telehealth Video Appointment is €55.  

How does it work, what do I need?

A computer/laptop/tablet/smartphone is all that you require. (We recommend the biggest screen you have available to you for ease of use), a stable and reliable broadband internet connection, clothing in which you can move comfortably and space in front of your device to be able to move around so we can assess you easily. I’m not good at computers – I’m not sure I will be able to work it.

We are happy to talk you through the process over the phone in advance to get you set up and guide you through the process. Just call us on 046 9062265 and one of our team will be happy to help you. If you prefer, we do have the alternative of doing a telephone appointment with you whereby we can discuss and advise over the phone.

 

Can a Telehealth Video Appointment provide benefit? How can it help if we cannot lay our hands on you?

In summary, yes we can help. Despite it being remote, the cornerstones of our job can still be delivered to the highest standard (education, exercise, load management, healthcare advice and referral).

We are specialists in the assessment of human movement and exercise prescription, in addition to providing valuable advice re the do’s and don’ts we can learn a lot about your problem via this method. We can then put a specifically tailored exercise program in place for you to facilitate the body’s return to optimal movement and function.

 

System Requirements

On the rare occasion that we are having issues with our Telehealth technology we do have a back-up system at the ready.

We do ask that you try to ensure that you are as close to your WiFi router as is possible and that you have good signal from your router box before we start the call. We will do everything we can within our control to help you/guide you on the tech side of things should you have any issues. Please notify us in advance of your appointment time if you are having technical difficulties/concerns. If you so wish, we can also do telephone appointments which may work better for some people depending on their preference.

Can we do a test call/run?

If you feel you need to do a test call/ test run of your system we can of course arrange this in advance of your appointment to make sure that all is in order, please let us know if this is something you wish to do.

 

What aspects of your service are covered by the Telehealth session?

Read below for details of a typical Telehealth Session :

New Clients/Patients :

- discuss your injury, your concerns and where you are at presently with respect to your injury and where our end goal lies.

- assess movement, strength, control, mobility via video link

- identify the issues that are contributing to your injury and explain this to you to ensure that you fully understand what it is we need to do to get you back to your best

- coach you through the session to ensure you know how to work on your specific exercises correctly and effectively/check your present exercises and progress them as indicated. This is a very similar process to our gym setting.

- we will email you a summary of your assessment and the relevant findings.

- you will receive your plan and exercises via our exercise app including videos and demonstrations of each.



Existing Clients/Patients :

- discuss your injury, your progress since your last appointment and ear mark any particular issues you have been having since your last appointment.

- assess movement, strength, control, mobility via video link

- identify what alterations we need to make to your program, what we need to progress, and what modifications would benefit you going forward.

- coach you through the session to ensure you know how to work on your specific exercises correctly and effectively/check your present exercises and progress them as indicated. This is a very similar process to our gym setting.

- we will email you a summary of your assessment and the relevant goals for your next phase of rehabilitation. 

- you will receive your updated plan and exercises via our exercise app including videos and demonstrations of each.

 

 

Can you ensure that I complete my exercises correctly?

We will check your technique and cue you accordingly as we coach you through completing relevant exercises on-screen.

 

Does booking and follow up follow the same procedure?

You can book your initial or follow up appointment online, or we can do it for you over the phone (046) 9062265. For a follow up appointment we can book this for you if needed at the end of your Telehealth appointment for a time that fits your schedule.

 

How do we pay for your services?

We can take payment via card at the end of your appointment session and will email a receipt to you on completion of the Telehealth Video Appointment.  

 

GDPR and my data, is my information safe?

As always, we take every measure to ensure that we keep your data safe. We use encrypted software for our calls, which is accessed by you with your unique code for your PhysiApp. Our backup system if required, will create a once-off link which is only valid for the duration of the call and will only be sent to you directly via email immediately after it has been generated. This will expire as soon as the Telehealth Appointment is completed. As always, all personal data thereafter is stored on our encrypted Patient Management Software system. Will I be given a programme to follow?

yes – you will receive an exercise program with full details of sets/reps as well as demo photos and videos of each aspect of your program.

 

Can all the exercises be done at home or is there equipment needed? Depending on what equipment you have available to you at this time, we will adapt your program accordingly so that you can work with what you have/basic equipment you have at your disposal. We have to do this for people regularly irrespective of the current social distancing measures.

 

How can you determine or diagnose my injury

Having discussed your injury, your beliefs and how you describe your limitations, we combine this with assessment of your movement, strength, control, mobility via video link. Drawing from all of this information we can diagnose your injury and point you on the path to recovery.

 

Can I claim back on my appointment just like a regular Physiotherapy appointment?

Your Telehealth appointment is the same as a normal Physiotherapy appointment in this regard, none of the health insurers have differentiated a Telehealth appointment from a face-to-face appointment, many of which have been encouraging Telehealth interventions in recent months. You will receive a receipt via email in the same fashion as you would for a face-to-face appointment and can submit it for rebate from your Private Health Insurer/Med 1 Form or other benefit scheme.

 

I don’t have access to a gym - how can I continue my rehab?

We have a bank of alternative ways of exercising at the ready that will replicate that of your regular gym equipment, there’s more than 1 way to skin a cat ;)

 

I don’t have a laptop. Can I still access Telehealth services?

Yes, you can still access your Telehealth Appointment via tablet/smartphone, although we do find a bigger screen is easier to navigate. If you are using a tablet/smartphone, we recommend downloading PhysiApp in advance of your appointment.

 

I don’t have an injury, can you help me stay fit with social distancing and/or self-isolation?
